Ancestors warned against growing these 5 plants at home for fear of family decline and ruin
Green trees are an essential need for decorating homes, gardens, and bringing fresh air to life. However, there are certain types of trees that are considered as “five evil trees” by the ancients, meaning they are trees that bring bad energy and invite evil spirits. If planted in front of the house, they will bring extreme bad luck, causing illness, conflicts, and financial decline to the family.
Among the types of trees that should not be planted indoors, there are 5 trees called “five evil trees”: Willow, Li, Si, Da, and Gao. Planting these five trees indoors will bring negative energy to the house. These are ornamental trees that are only suitable for yin areas, not for human living spaces that require more yang energy.
Planting these trees indoors can invite evil spirits, bring misfortune to the host family, and lead to family separation, financial decline, and depletion of luck.
Willow Tree
Willow trees are often planted near lakes and city roads. However, due to its droopy shape and lack of vitality, it should not be planted in front of the house. Willow is also associated with the image of a wandering woman, so it does not bring good luck to women in the family. Moreover, willow trees have strong yin characteristics as they droop downwards and face downwards, which can bring sadness, mental distress, and create a gloomy atmosphere in the living space. Therefore, planting willow trees can bring difficulties, sadness to the family, and hinder romantic relationships. Willow trees resemble mourning, which is not suitable for homeowners.
Ho Hoe Tree
Ho Hoe is a medicinal herb but it has yin characteristics. Especially if planted in front of the house, it can grow thick stems that attract evil spirits and block good airflow into the house. According to the phonetic transcription of Chinese characters, the name of the Ho Hoe tree contains the word “ma” which means it does not have positive yang energy. Planting this tree in front of the house can cause bad luck, illness, and disturbance from evil spirits, and it does not bring auspiciousness. Therefore, it is not recommended to plant Ho Hoe trees in front of the house. However, some families may plant Ho Hoe trees behind the house.
Si Tree
Si trees are large ornamental trees that can obscure houses and create negative energy. Therefore, in the past, people avoided planting Si trees in front of the house because when they grow, they create large roots that block good energy and prevent the entry of fortune into the house, also being the dwelling place of evil spirits. The deep roots of Si trees can also cause damage to the building structure. However, nowadays, there are many types of bonsai Si trees that can be planted in front of the house, but only as appropriate bonsai forms. Avoid planting Si trees with large wooden trunks. Si trees are often associated with temples and shrines.
Da Tree
Da trees are similar to Si trees, ancient and large trees associated with temples and shrines. “Da” is the nickname of the rice ghost in folklore. Therefore, it is best not to plant Da trees indoors, but only in religious places such as temples, shrines, or religious structures. Da trees are often inhabited by wandering spirits. If you still want to plant Da trees indoors, choose bonsai Da trees and remember to trim the leaves when they grow well to avoid a dense and overgrown appearance.
Gao Tree
The red-flowered Gao tree is beautiful but does not bring good luck to the homeowners as it is a type of tree that hungry evil spirits seek for food. Moreover, there are thorns on the trunk of the Gao tree that create negative energy pointing towards the house, causing harm and disharmony in the family.
Due to the reasons mentioned above, even if you like these types of trees, you should carefully consider planting them in the vicinity of your house or in front of your house.
